..Payphone..

RNRMU convocation at PICC, Putrajaya. A simple, yet perfect occasion.

My mum's house in Tangkak, Muar, Johor. Just a few days before raya. It was gotong royong time. Mum's siblings from KL came home to do some cleaning.

 Ribena. Instant energy for me.

Quite modest baju raya for this year. Simple does it for me :)

..Heart Shaped Box..

Why does women want to marry, or push a guy so much to marry her as fast as possible? Here are some of my thoughts :

1. Been in a relationship for too long. Logically, marrying is the finish line.

2. Peer pressure. Seeing friends marrying their sweethearts one by one is heart wrenching.

3. Tired of being in so many failed relationships. Just want to get it done with.

4. The age factor. Family and friends are starting to ask questions.

5. Too tired with the single life, and want to have someone to share their problems with.

6. Afraid that with age, comes multiple complications when trying to conceive children.

7. Doesnt trust the boyfriend can be loyal to her at his workplace.

8. Doesnt trust herself can stay loyal come a better person in her life.

9. Boyfriend with a lackadaisical attitude and just waiting for her to make decisions.

For me marriage is a big thing. And as much as I am just a nobody now, I do sometimes think of marriage. But as a guy, the responsibilities are so big these days. The expectations of in-laws. The worrying that my parents are taking it hard to accept her as a daughter. What am I going to feed her. Am I pious enough to guide her in her life as an imam. Can we make this marriage last and prosper. Will she continue to love me or will I continue to love her.

There is just, so many things.

I just want to work first, and then be more confident in things.

What I can do now, is just to make her happy as she wants, give her everything I got (not money la), and be there when she needs me. She may not be the one for me, as I may not be for her, but for now, we are what we have for each other. It takes time. But now that I'm here, I'm going to do all I can.

..Paradise..

For the first time in my life, there's a traffic jam just near my house towards Petronas and Mutiara Bangi. What the hell happened to my good old peaceful Bangi hometown? To be fair, this was during Ramadhan, so everyone was either rushing to go back home from work or going to the bazar ramadhan. Talking about bazar ramadhan the things that pisses me off are mostly the price and the spoiled kuih I got. WTF. Why sell the kuih if you can test or smell it yourself that they're already spoiled? Do you want everyone to get sick or sue you? Seriously, they need to step up. I somehow feel that the bazar standard has gone down over the years.

Good thing Shazli lives in Ampang, so thats not so far away from my home. So we kinda can lepak-lepak together lah. But he's going on a eurotrip with his sisters for a month in 3 days time, so I'm gonna be forever alone for awhile, with no one to bromance with, hehe.

This is the One Utama surau, the other one which lies on the Ground floor I think? Of the building this big and glorious, to built just this modest and small surau kind of breaks my heart. But hey, its clean, and we have a place to pray, so lets just not take this for granted. Usually I use this surau when I come here after office hours, so theres almost no one there and its kinda scary, because this surau lies just beside the One Utama parking lot, and there has been many a few cases of crime at the One Utama parking lot. So people, always be careful.

Its been awhile since I had a proper Cornetto. Now almost 2 or 3 days I eat one hahaha nyumm~

This place is recommended by Botak who says that this is the best mamak in town and around Malaysia. Fair to him, the place is not bad, clean, peaceful, good area, wide arrays of menu and competitive prices. When Botak says its good, you bet your ass that the food is good, because he's a pretty good and bad ass food reviewer and chef himself. We ate here for berbuka puasa (no, I wont use iftar) after me, Botak and Shazli had our pre-HO course at the Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences. The place is called Maulana Food Court and is situated in Serdang or Seri Kembangan, wherever that is, just near Botak's house actually.

Here is Botak with the restaurant's special, mi goreng Prem hahahaha just kidding, mi goreng mamak, with chunks of ayam goreng rempah. It looks good, and it tasted good too.

Me and Shazli had beriani kambing and it was worth every penny. Lots of beriani rice, with the smooth and tasty texture of the kambing, it was really mouth watering. Especially since we are breaking our fast at the time. Teh o ais was the perfect complement for it. I think so la.

This Sutun story actually how many times are going to be aired on TV? I really hope one day this sotong guy will play a serious macho and manly type.

..the Eagle Has Landed..

I'm finally back home in Malaysia. Same old same old. The only difference is, I dont have to go back to Russia again, after 7 years of getting cranky with the weather and the people. I finally graduated from med school. Personally speaking, I dont prefer people calling me doctor or me myself introducing myself as one until I officially finish my housemanship.

My parents came all the way to Moscow to watch my convocation, I dont know how proud they were, but as long as I can make them happy, that is all I care about. Afterwards we went to an impromptu eurotrip, a couple of days here and there. We went to our old place Leuven, in Belgium and to London. The weather initially was ok, but then, in typical British fashion, the heavens opened and it rained a lot in London.

So I arrived in KLIA without much fanfare. Nobody was there to fetch me save for an MO from my dad's department who is studying for masters in neurosurgery. Apparently my mum and sis had to go to Hotel Maya in KL for a surprise party for my dad, which was initiated by his department. He was shocked to see me already here in KL, so it was a double surprise for him.

What makes me sad was, I was all alone from my hostel in Moscow, to the airport in Domodedovo, to Dubai and to KL. I dont know anyone on the flight, and yes, it was kinda sad and lonely, for my final trip back home from Moscow.

Anyway, here I am, and I intend to savor all my free time before I start working as a slave for the people :p

After my very last exam. Excited!

Anything looks good on me! :p

My groupmates. 2 dudes are missing.

My pillars of strength.

My sister's friend @ OL of the day :D

Me and Azzam's bff, Dol flying about in front of VDNKh.

I'm getting the hell out of Moscow people! :)

..the Naked Chef..

Besides being a student or whatnot here in Russia, I'm also moonlighting as a damn chef. What can I say? I can't really eat out all the time, I have a tight budget here. Plus the food here in Moscow aren't exactly tasty. They taste like crap, but what other choices do we have? Sometimes I do eat out, like 4 or 5 times a month, but maybe more if I'm lazy.

So far Burger King is the most satisfying fast food of all.

Fish King, some onion rings and a big ass cup of Sprite.

This meanwhile, is the Italian fast food eatery, Sbarro. Strangely enough, they're not found when I went to Rome and Venice.
This is not a buffet. Sigh. Tak menyelerakan langsung :(
This is Livan House (Lebanese House). Everything is halal, but the price are steep, jadi bila awal2 bulan jela mampu datang makan kat sini hehe.
So in the end, it is much cheaper and satisfying for me to cook myself. This here is a pathetic take of my version of a nasi lemak, with fish burger fillet, sambal ikan bilis and telur goreng.

Trying a rice-less diet. Scrambled eggs, with tomyam potatoes mixed with mushrooms. I know it sounds and looks disgusting, but they're pretty awesome. Tasted ok too! :D

So there you go folks, some of the things that I cook here. Because my mum kept asking do I really need that much rempah ratus or whatnot to bring to Moscow? Kat Malaysia kau ni asyik lepak kedai mamak je dengan Johan. Tak pernah pun mak nampak kau masak. Well mum, there you have it. I do really need my treasured spices to cook here. And as you can see, I don't really care how I cook it. Asalkan kenyang jadi lah kan?

..Shota no Sushi..

While I was dreaming about during this study week, with nothing much to do other in Moscow since the weather was bad anyway, suddenly my good friend Sufrin Mansor or better known as kelantan dude, Dol asked me whether I was interested in having sushi as dinner that day. I was watching that nonsensical but highly entertaining car show Top Gear, which pretty much sums up my day, so I thought hey, why not.

Yup. Top Gear. With some eye candies.

The biggest attraction to me was the 50% off discount of that sushi place, and since that sushi place was just near our hostel, it was really a no brainer. The weather was cold, I think around 14'C, good thing I got my jacket, heh. As for Dol, well, no surprise. He didnt bring one. Anyway, we were greeted by a very lovely young blond lady who ushered us to the non smoking area. Did I say she was lovely? She was breathtaking. Pity we didnt took a photo with her. I feel bad that we didnt try to atleast ask her :p

Since I've just only eaten like 2 hours before, I wasnt really looking into something, just the curiosity of trying one or two. Boy was I wrong. The sushis (is the plural like this?) were awesome. I dont remember their names but I sure will come again and eat the same menu I chose.

Its a pity that I only took 2 pictures. But I sure as hell will come again. The sushi place's name is More Sushi, or Sea/Ocean Sushi for a direct translation from Russian. The service was ok, which is saying a lot compared to services at other russian stores or shops. My favorite pick would be the fried sushi thingy and the fried prawns. They were awesome. And more good exercises for me as I will be playing futsal tonight with a bunch of buddies. Time to stretch me legs! :D

..Just a Few Steps More ..

Yesterday was officially my final day to class for my med school. Well actually I still have to go to some elective lectures and final exams, but basically that's all about it. I was among the last one to go back home, as I opted to take my time trying to answer my exam papers that day. We had exams on Tropical Diseases on the last day, and me and my roomie/classmate Shazli was the two final people left. Took a picture just to commemorate the moment.

Ugly ass hospital but it was under construction, so its the best I could do (lazy).

Seeing that we had nothing better to do, we decided not to go home just yet, and went to VDNKh. Its basically a huge ass conference cum exhibition place, where they put the best of everything Soviet or some sort, but nowadays they just made in into some huge entertainment place where there's some fun fair or some sorta park, ride bicycles, get crunk, enjoy the sunshine and enjoy the beautiful view (Russians).

Pretty similar to the one in Berlin and Paris.

What can I say, it has been a long journey here in Russia, and I cannot say it hasnt drained me mentally and physically, because it did. I came a long way since I was a thin, scrawny and socially awkward penguin into the dude I am now, and it wasnt just because of me. Along the way, I went through a lot of things, being cheated of, being taken advantage of, moving on, getting into some semi-relationship, breaking it off, getting it on again. I just don't know. We'll see how it will turn out. For now, I'm getting my well deserved rest and have to get ready for the coming exams.

Fuck I'm going to have to work in a couple of months time. Gahhhhh
